AFRICA PRIME YOUNG DIRECTOR’S AWARD

(5 PRIZES EACH X $10,000 TOWARDS YOUR PRODUCTION)

Africa Prime is introducing an award incentive for young film directors from Africa, producing film content that is Africa-Centric and shot in Africa. These young film directors may be living in the USA studying film-making, or dreaming up big plans to shoot something great in Africa. The term ‘directors’ may include a team of people around a particular project which would have script-writers, camera and lighting specialists as well as editors. Awards will be judged for the most creative and original content, as well as excellence in production values (noting these are pilot projects). The content can be submitted as scripts, pilot projects, part completed or fully completed projects.

The list of categories must fall into one of the following:

  1. Documentaries
  2. Full Feature Movies
  3. TV Series
  4. Music
  5. Conceptual

You may enter in the following formats:

  1. Trailers (link to online sample – YouTube or Vimeo)
  2. Movies and series(link to online sample – YouTube or Vimeo)
  3. Pilot projects(link to online sample – YouTube or Vimeo)
  4. Scripts (upload below)

Africa Prime Award Entry Form

Entry Fee per Category is $35 (Terms & Conditions apply)

Terms & Conditions:

  1. Only 1 Submission per entry form is allowed
  2. Once submitted you will be invoiced for US$35 with payment details. Once payment is cleared we will accept your entry.
  3. Judging Criteria will be based upon Originality of Concept Script, Creativity, Africa-centric positive message.
  4. The Quality of Acting and Cinematography will be judged within the confines of limited budget at this stage.
  5. The Prize allocation will be in the form of payment towards the film project’s production and execution.
  6. The name of the Africa Prime judging committee and process will be made public once we have secured sufficient entries
  7. Africa Prime plans this Creative Award to be an annual event and details regarding final Judging date and panel will be emailed to you.
  8. The Judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  9. Africa Prime will get in contact you to allocate the award Prize towards your project.
